Last Minute Panic!

The newly refurbished outdrives have now been refitted but not without some major problems with getting the hook up fork pin retaining bolts back in place. After taking up the kind offer of using Mar Y Sol's, unfortunately those were just as worn as ours. This then resulted in a quick trip to Screwfix to purchase an M8 Tap & Die to clean the threads up  in a last minute panic, as the yard had already loaded Moonshine onto the boat mover.  It probably would be good practice to replace these for what they cost each time the drives are removed, too late now but these can be sourced and stored away for next time.

Moonshine is now all set for her relaunch this morning.

Changing Colours

Last week Moonshine's Hull was compounded and machine polished to a good shine over the course of three days.  Once the polishing had been completed the antifouling was applied.  This year we have changed from blue to navy blue International Cruiser Uno EU.

Yesterday we stripped the old rubber insert from the stainless steel rubbing strake, and fitted a new rubber which we obtained from Trend Marine.

This new rubber smartened the strake up no end and we are really pleased with this.

The transom shields are all prepared ready for the newly refurbished drives to be fitted.  Also new anodes have been fitted to the trim tabs.  We now have just a few more minor jobs left to do prior to our relaunch on the 20th March, fingers crossed she will still float.
