First cruise of the year!

Pollington, low side moorings

After several weeks of laborious work on the house in the form of redecorating and laying new flooring, we decided to take a much needed break and take full advantage of the weekends milder weather aboard Moonshine.  Our original intention was to visit South Yorkshire Boat Club where we have recently renewed our membership, however an ongoing structural failure to Pollington Lock and CRT only being able to man the lock during certain hours weekdays only put paid to that plan.  It is also the time of year we are reminded of our lack of value for money with the renewal of our licence! Nevertheless, we ended up spending a very pleasant Saturday evening moored bottom side of Pollington Lock.  With beer, wine and good food aboard and the opportunity of covering some decent dog walking ground, this was a perfect location for us.
